Cat Toilet Training: The Steps to be followed

Cat toilet training is a lengthy process.

It may take weeks or even months in giving your cat the toilet training. In this training you teach your cat how to use the toilet and get rid of the litter box. You have to follow some steps while giving this training. These steps are discussed below.

1) The first step of cat toilet training involves placing the litter box in the washroom near the toilet seat. Keep the litter box there for some time like a whole day.

2) Start moving up the level of the litter box by placing anything under it like phone books and whenever you move up the level take out litter some amount of litter. The litter box should carefully be placed on anything you like in such a way that it should not move.

3) Move the box on the toilet seat an inch a day until it is exactly on the seat. Keep on moving the litter out.

4) Change the litter box with a practice box by tapping a wax paper over the hole to give it the look of a drum. Put flushable litter after lowering the seat. Instead of the wax paper, a bowl or aluminium pan can also be tapped with the hole. Then put flushable litter.

5) In case of wax paper or aluminium pan, make an inch wide hole in the center and continue with the cat toilet training. Keep on widening the hole until it is gone. In Case of a training seat, keep on removing the rings. This will help the cat get used to urinate and defecate into the water. Keep on removing the litter. Ideally when the wax paper is gone, there should be no litter left to be removed.
